Curious on reading up on the events of Dunkirk. Has anyone in here read The Miracle of Dunkirk by Walter Lord?

Or, as I'm not much of a history buff, can anyone recommend a good book to start?

Alright, I just read through the entire thread cause some reason I wasn't hear before.

A few things to note on the Interstellar backlash. Those who like to bring up he "love" speech are clearly missing a huge part of that scene. The part where the other scientists in the room tell her she is being ridiculous and they don't listen to her and don't go to the planet she wants to go to. Love isn't what makes the tesseract, love is not what allows him to communicate with Murph. Its advanced beings, basically its us in the far distant future that created the Tesseract.

Also his movies don't have "twists", at least not all of them. Memento didn't really have a twist, unless you count finding out that he already Killed "John G" But if that is a "twist" then any late movie plot development is a "twist" Insomnia... No twist. Batman Begins.... no twist. The Prestige, ok kind of has a twist. The Dark Knight... no twist. Inception.... No twist. The Dark Knight Rises had a twist, i'll give you that one. Interstellar... no twist.

Anyways. This movie looks incredible. From a technical aspect, the things Nolan is doing with this are unreal. Can't wait to see it. Definitely my most anticipated next to Blade Runner 2049 and The Last Jedi

I always forget that Inception made nearly $1 billion at the box office. Nolan's brand was so insanely strong after The Dark Knight.

Nice. I don't mind long movies, but I think a Nolan war film under 2 hours sounds a lot more enjoyable than a Nolan war film that's over 2.5 hours.

Seeing as how the majority of it was filmed in IMAX with IMAX cameras mounted to planes.... I'd say that its definitely worth it and should be seen that way.
