  1. Best line: "Not only is “Dunkirk” bereft of a single, glorious speech..."

My info was from an article posted earlier today. I didn't check the actual site. Even better. This movie will stay in the mid 90s I think, which would be Nolan's high rated film, right?

  3. I think so, TDK ended at like 94% IIRC.

    TDK is still 94%, right?

  5. I haven't been to a movie theater since Inception, but some of these comments are making me think I need to do so for this one. Love Nolan's work.

Really wish I could've seen this today. All signs seem to point towards this being his best movie in almost a decade

This was such a glorious rollercoaster of despair. It has an odd structure that I think is gonna lose people that just see "From the director of 'The Dark Knight Trilogy'" but those who stick with it should be wowed.

There are a lot of people who don't like reserved seats. Why pretend that it is some sort of unique perspective?

    Reserved seating is wack

  11. Deep down, I like to believe there are also reservation truthers that don't believe in them and never get to eat dinner at popular restaurants.

I could make literally the same argument for reserved seating, though. "Seems easy enough to just purchase your tickets early/soon after they go on sale." I dunno, Fandango is a thing and if there are people who aren't using it then I guess I understand why reserved seating doesn't sound like a good thing to those people.

And showing up an hour early to a screening of a movie isn't a very easy thing to do for a lot of people. Not as easy as planning a movie time ahead and then being able to show up right at that time without having to worry about being forced into the front row.

Reserved seats have been the standard for most sports, concerts, stage productions, almost any other form of live entertainment. Utilizing it for movies makes complete sense.

Also, why does anyone give any single shit about Rotten Tomatoes

Yeah, I'm not a fan of reserved seating. Every time I do it someone inevitably takes my seat and then I get to choose between confronting someone or sitting somewhere else and being confronted. It's like adding a whole new level of anxiety.

Are they expecting theater employees to police seats? Their jobs seem bad enough as it is.

I love reserved seating. Makes the whole movie going experience easier. I don't have to worry about showing up way early just to get a decent seat. I can buy online, stroll up as the previews are starting and be good to go.

I have 4 movies theaters within a 20 min drive of me and to my knowledge, none of them have reserved seating.

That said, I RARELY ever go to the theater anymore. Used to go like 5x a month but kids really ruin the whole going to the movies thing.

Would love to see this in IMAX but closest one to me is like an hour away.

Everyone, it's a new Nolan film. This is a joyous time, not one to spend arguing the merits of reserved seating.

I am so totally amped to see this, y'all.

  20. That's right. My OpenTable skills are only surpassed by my Fandango skills. And my ability to say "excuse me, I'm sorry, but I think you're in the seats we reserved." Boooya. (I've also never actually had that happen.)
