Got my tickets for IMAX next weekend. So stoked ahhhhh. Wish I could've seen it in 70mm though.

 

Damn, I wanna live where you live.

 

In Philly suburbs, never really had an issue, didn't realize it wasn't the norm for some people. Like maybe you don't get the center sit seats in the middle row but most people don't really fill into until the trailers start

 

Damn just saw Spiderman again yesterday. 3 pm showing. Tough to find seats together with 10 minutes til trailers.

 

Is there a review embargo on this badboy?

 

Reserved seating is the greatest thing to ever happen to the movies. Just wish all theaters did it instead of just the big chains.

 

Yea for the most part if I think a theater will be at least half full, I buy in advance to get a good seat. The one time I figured a screening wouldn't be full was when I saw Spotlight and only available seats were front row. Made me not appreciate the viewing as much because of how annoying the seating was and had to constantly adjust my eyes. Would have been worse if I'd saw an action film

 

The worst part for me is the main "big movie" theater near me .... doesn't do reserved seating. The two smaller theaters do.

It's bullshit.

 

Damn, I would've turned right around and went on a different day haha.

But yeah, I pretty much always buy my tickets in advance these days, even if it's for a movie that's been out for weeks or for something that isn't a big blockbuster. Being secure in the knowledge that I have a good seat and I don't have to show up to the theater an hour early is the best. My friends and I got to a screening of Apes this past Friday night during the previews and didn't have to rush at all. Did have to kick some people out of our seats though, which is always fun haha.

 

That is super frustrating. Pretty much every AMC around me in Jersey has gone to reserved seating, and AMC is really the only big theater chain around here. I think there are a couple of Regals but not a significant amount. I only really have to worry about getting to a screening early when I go to this one awesome theater in Montclair that shows all the good indies. It sucks and I hate having to do it and it reminds me that sometimes bigger chains actually do know what's up.

 

Dunkirk is playing at zero theaters I can walk to. Which is very frustrating.

 

I think I'm going to end up seeing this one by myself if I want to catch it in theaters, especially in IMAX. Bought two tickets for my wife and I, 6:00 PM on Thursday, but we can't secure someone to watch our kids, and probably not before it would be out of the closest IMAX.

I'll do it for Nolan.

 

Definitely glad the early reviews are positive, but wasn't expecting anything less!

I'm on the other side of the river. Debating a max ride to Lloyd Center.

 

Currently on a mission to find someone to share my extra IMAX ticket with.

the worst part about reserved seating is people who don't pay attention to (or just ignore) the fact that it's reserved seating.

 

I Hate that Regal is starting to do reserved now. Their theaters are too big for it. It's just a pain in the ass for everyone.

Pro tip: make notes for what seats you like at each theater! I've got one on my phone for knowing basically exactly where I wanna be.

 

This is the first time I've ever seen assigned seats at a theater.
