Echoing everyone else that this was pure fun. Everyone looked like they were having a great time. If they do more, I hope it’s a different cast/story/characters every time. Holga and the potatoes was extremely relatable

I can't wait to see what this spinoff TV show will be now.

Finally caught this on Paramount+. I totally loved it. There were so many bits of D&D lore sprinkled throughout and the whole cast was great. I’d like a sequel.

A sequel film hasn't been confirmed, but we are getting a live action spin off series on Paramount+ that is supposed to be an anchor for an eventual expanded streaming universe.

Chris has said stuff about a sequel happening in interviews, but that could just be studio talks and nothings set in stone.

I would be shocked if one didn't happen.

Yeah really enjoyed this! Swiftly paced and had some fun plot design! And the fight scenes were great, had just enough “power” to them

Don’t sleep on this. Especially if you’re also playing Baldur’s Gate 3.
    And vice versa ;)

Finally watched this and it was a fun ride. I think, and my family seemed to agree, that it started a little too cheesy and Ren Fairish, but as it ramped up and got into the swing of things, it was a lot of fun.

Lots of little things about it that I love, but the one thing I still can't get over is the chubby dragon. That was an inspired and awesome decision.

And even though I have no experience with D&D, I was still that Leo meme when things like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter were mentioned. I also saw Icewind Dale on a map. Nice stuff.

Paramount axeing the live action spinoff series this was supposed to get. Getting reworked by Hasbro and shopped to different streamers. Does not bode well for the future of this as a franchise.

That series had nothing to do with this movie fwiw. Totally different creative team, story, etc. That said, I still would have liked to see it, so hopefully it lands somewhere after they revamp it.

they were considering it a spinoff and an extension of the franchise and were going to use to to build an expanded universe around the movie. It was a major part of their larger plan for D&D. Them cutting this means they're scaling back on whatever wider plan they had to make this a multi-platform universe like a mcu or star wars.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Any D&D series is only going to be as good as the creative team behind it. There's shit adaptations and good adaptations of the source material. I'll remain cautiously optimistic despite this news however...the movie is great and BG3 is obviously what it is so Forgotten Realms adaptations are definitely on a big upswing at the moment.
