so it's incredibly lame of me BUT I'd never seen either of these films or read any of the books until a few days ago. anyway, I watched part one on NYE and now I've watched part one 4x, part two 3x, and I'm a hundredish pages into the book lol. fuckin obsessed man, what took me so long

 

Best movie of 2024 still.

 

Picked up the Paul print from Mondo. Surprised it hasn't sold out yet.

Seems the consensus is that the academy is waiting for the last movie similar to Lord of the Rings to reward it with the big categories.

 

They shouldn’t do that. Messiah is going to be VERY different lol. This is not really a trilogy situation.

 

Especially since the director has been very clear that it is not a trilogy.

 

I’m just saying what I’ve heard, doesn’t mean it’s correct. The academy really just doesn’t want to award sci-fi films much.

 

I only know the basic plot of Messiah but everyone I know who has read it definitely thinks that the movie is going to have much more added to it to flesh it out

Personally I agree but everyone is very outraged over this in particular for whatever (dumb) reason lol

Lots of people saying “You shouldn’t be an Oscar voter if you don’t watch every single film!!!”

 

Anyone who would admit this deserves to be named and have their voting ability revoked.
