Don’t think it’s dune messiah since he made a point of wanting to step away from that world for a bit, maybe in 2028 if we’re lucky.

 

Only way he agrees to do Dune Messiah so soon is if they offer him a boatload of money

 

I don’t think he’d go for anything before 2027 myself. But either way, that’s the date set for it, so we shall see what happens.

 

Warner Bros probably gave him an ultimatum to either do it now or they’d give it to someone else. They’re not going to risk losing the momentum they have from part 2 now. Especially because the studio itself is in a pretty dire place if I’m not mistaken.

 

There is no way in hell they gave him an ultimatum or they were going to replace him. They either bribed him enough to prioritize it now or he simply won’t do it in that timeframe and they’ll just put another movie in that spot. That’s why it wasn’t actually announced to be a date for Dune. They’re just cementing a date because they’re hoping it’ll happen, I don’t think it’s any deeper than that. Lol
