Apparently there’s a third film planned? Was this already known and I missed it somehow?

 

Isn't the potential third film an adaptation of the next book?

 

Ahh maybe that’s it. Deadline’s article about the trailer said it was part of a “planned three-film saga” and I don’t remember seeing that mentioned before.

 

Yeah Denis has basically hinted at wanting to complete Paul's story, which is done in the 2nd book, Dune Messiah. That is a much shorter book too, so the whole thing should be able to fit into one film. And seeing how this film should do a great deal better than the first film, I'm pretty sure WB will greenlight Dune Messiah as well

 

Not that I'm surprised, but this looks absolutely f---ing incredible.

 

Yeah, my impression was always that these two films would cover the first book. Would a third film conclude the first book or start another?
