Man, seems like people worldwide can't get enough of that spice melange... "Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic, starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, also blew away audiences overseas to score a global start of $178.5 million." - And this is without China or Japan yet. Predict this has a chance of doubling the overall total of Part One Box Office: 'Dune Part Two' Delivers Big $82M Opening Weekend
I think I remember hearing the word "melange" in Part One when Paul was listening to his audiotape about Arrakis, before the family left Caladan
I also read a cliffnotes version of Dune Messiah today, and man, shit really starts to get weird in that story. Really curious to see how Denis visually films some of that stuff Going further into the books, Leto II is where it starts getting into "acid trip" territory
Same - very interested to see how he translates some of the hard sci-fi cloning/Theilux stuff, as well as the kids most of all though, I can’t wait for Hyat
Disagree as well. Dune 2 is slightly better. Much more satisfying as well. So glad Baron died. I was so annoyed that character survived in dune 1 and was highly anticipating for his time to come.
Saw this last night. As a blockbuster film, I thought it was excellent and really enjoyed it. I think I liked the first more from a story telling perspective though, this was a bit more all over the place. I felt like the switch to the Harkonnen focus was a bit abrupt and they could have intertwined it more with the first half of the movie.
