I did not care for Part One at all but enjoyed this one so much. Would love to watch it on IMAX now. Javier Bardem was so great, he basically carried the whole first half for me. He had so many great comedic moments too, that last "Lisan al Gaib!" was so funny.
Avatar: The Way of Water is such a masterpiece. Honestly one of the best blockbusters of the 21st century. That third act is god tier action filmmaking But yea it’s a very different flavor of sci-fi fantasy than the Dune movies. I’m happy both get to exist alongside one another as testaments to what is possible when truly visionary directors are given big screen blank checks. When you give a director a blank check for Netflix you get The Gray Man or Rebel Moon
With this as the promotional song "It's all 'bout the money It's all 'bout the Dune Dune da da Dune Dune"
Top five all timer for me. Not just sci Fi but like, movies. Cannot get over how good of an actress Zendaya is
Was leaving the museum of natural history last Sunday, literally ran into him on West 80th. Had I know he was in this I would've fanboyed so hard.
mine was great also and what made it extra special was the one guy who's ringtone went off and it was "Turn Down For What". No one could get mad at that banger
Mine too I was worried there was a lot of banter during the trailers but nothing during the actual showing. Great crowd.
Easily the best theatrical experience and best film overall since Top Gun Maverick. I enjoyed it a bit more than Dune 1 (which I think was the best film of 2021), will not be surprised (or expect) any movie to top Dune 2 in 2024 for me.
I’m sure for many people it will, but I wasn’t as crazy about fury road as others were. We’ll see though. Maybe I’ll be surprised
