I guess they're close to starting to film? Who knows Anya Taylor-Joy Offers Major Update for Dune: Messiah (But When Does It Film?)
Everything we know about Dune: Messiah Director Denis Villeneuve On Shooting 'Dune: Part Two' In The Desert
saw this comment on reddit: This is a quote by Denis about Dune Messiah: “The thing is, first, it’s really important that people understand for me, it was really a diptych, it was two movies, a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book,” he explained. “So that’s done, that’s finished. So, if I do a third one, which is in the writing process, I will say that, for me, it’s a different object. It’s not like a trilogy almost, it’s strange to say, but I really want to—if I go back there—to do something that feels different and has its own identity.” A different DP could help Messiah have its own identity. He's not going for the same look/feel for the 3rd film.
I know people as a whole say Messiah is worse than Dun + the two after Messiah, but I actually loved it more than Dune. I thought both of the movies referenced with the new DP looked amazing, so no qualms from me there.
I am liking it. Weird enough. Everything is a little too dark and brown but I like the throat singing and the fat floating man. I’d like more worms I guess?
2 is probably better because it is a complete narrative unlike the abrupt ending of 1 but no one woke up Walken.
When I saw the first of these Dunes, having not read the book or seen the previous version, I found the ending rather satisfying, lol. Never agreed with the popular take that it ends too abruptly or whatever. The highlights of 2 are higher for me, and it’s still overall good. Love everything about Lady Jessica; the fight stuff is rad; never mad at spending time with a Florence Pugh character. But, it didn’t as a whole single film for whatever reason didn’t really hit quite as well as 1 did.
