I guess that means I've only missed two, but I also haven't seen Inception

I knew nothing about the source material before watching this Monday.

Really can’t believe it was the doctor! The freakin scene of Lady Jessica doing the voice right after they get captured was awesome. This was cast perfectly. I can’t believe how real everything looked.

Def gonna give this a rewatch on HBO Max this weekend.

Spoilers for Dune books:

Messiah: Chani dead - Paul blinded - rejects golden path - walks into desert - Alia slips in tyranny and being possessed by memory of Baron

Children - Paul actively fights against what he unleashed - dies - Idaho dead again - Alia dead - Leto II will be forever alone as sandworm hybrid destined to outlive all loved ones as he sets down path to becoming worst tyrant in human history by sacrificing any chance at his own life and happiness - which is only route to ensure ultimate survival of humanity.

God Emperor - Leto II succeeds in becoming worst tyrant ever after 4k years. Falls in love. Then dies. Hooray? Idaho still here though.

Heretics & Cahpterhouse - Let’s jump 1500 years into future again. Still got some Duncan Idaho though. Oh and everything else makes even less sense. Ends on big cliffhanger unresolved by Herbert before his death."

yeah I get that the books are old but a lot of people haven't read them and probably don't want to know stuff that may happen in later films.

 

Reading some more articles, Denis has basically said he'd do Dune Messiah as one movie; checking out the page length, Messiah is 256 pages, whereas the original Dune is 412 (depending on book size, haha), so yeah I can see how he'd probably be able to make the whole 2nd book fit in 2 hours and 40 minutes or so

 

is Daveed Diggs in this? could have sworn I saw someone who looks a lot like him in the Fremen hideout
