It cuts and changes some stuff in the book too - various subplots and presumably some things that might not hold up so well.
I get it's all about money but imagine making this movie and it ends like it does and no one ever gets to learn what the end of the story is lol (aside from reading the book)
I'm sure it's all glossed over in the movie, but on this reread I'm definitely put off when it's like "we're breeding superior traits!" and "we have to exploit the natives!"
saw this last night. it was great for a lot of the reasons mentioned elsewhere, but (speaking for myself) i'm not sure if i can really authoritatively speak on it until i've watched part 2. shame i saw it in a regular theater
Dune: Part One all but surely will get a Part Two, hints Warner's CEO I didn't realize hbo was doing a prequel series. Feeling good about part 2 but you'd think they'd be starting production so there isnt a huge gap.
