this is mostly alright. certainly doesn't help that there's been a few too many movies along these exact lines in the last several years. also not as funny as it's trying to be. and nobody really stands out as great, performance-wise. probably speaks to it being too "soon" to make a film about this precise real event
Yeah, I think I liked Pete Davidson the best because he’s bringing some weird energy to this. Everyone else feels pretty subdued, there’s way too many characters that it focuses on that you don’t care about and you just kind of wonder why this was made. It’s not particularly hilarious or dramatic or really that insightful. I’m thankful it was short.
So, is this mid but fun, or fully subpar/bad? I’ve been fairly split on what to expect but hopeful that Gillespie would make it at least “a pretty good time.”
I'd say mid, but kind of fun. I don't regret seeing it. I just won't think of it a whole lot beyond this year.
it was a real genius decision to cast pete davidson as a slacker living in his parents' basement. how'd they come up with that
