Dumb Money (Craig Gillespie, 2023)

I will see this opening weekend, but I am not holding out hope for this being any good

 

A movie about that whole GameStop mess sounds like a terrible idea, lol. The director of I, Tonya & Cruella helming it does give me some hope it could be fun, though.

 

Please be good and please don't glorify the idiots who STILL think they're gonna transform the economy with GameStop stock and have basically become QAnon

I'm pretty cold on most of Craig Gillespie's stuff but i'm excited for this

 

lol, that’s wild to me. He’s one of the main reasons I’m curious about this questionable movie premise.

 

Love Lars and the Real Girl.

Hate I,Tonya & Cruella.

Pam & Tommy was entertaining but should have just been a movie.

 

Dude has such a weird career. He directed Mr Woodcock and Lars and the real girl the same year

 

I think he stepped in to finish the job on Mr. Woodcock when the first director got fired

 

Cruella rules way more than it should, and I also like I, Tonya and Lars.

Making a movie about that whole GameStop stock ordeal is such a dumb idea. But, so is “live action origin story for a less evil version of the 101 Dalmatians villain” and “Ryan Gosling is in love with a sex doll.” Craig Gillespie handling the premise with this cast is truly the best chance this has to be a good time.

 

This has turned into one of those "I can't wait to never see this trailer again" movies. That seems to happen with every Sony movie. I think I saw the "Gran Turismo" trailer with every movie this summer.
