I kinda liked Take Care and Nothing Was the Same, but he always seemed like such an arrogant skeeze to me and I checked out entirely around Views.
he obviously stopped caring so it's good he got humbled pun intended, I can't believe how many fake Drake number ones there are
Nothing was the same has some of the best production I’ve ever heard on a hip hop record but that’s also the last album he really tried on
I really liked If You’re Reading This…. but that’s probably the last project of his I liked all the way through
If You're Reading This is absolutely Drake's last great project and that's not even a hot take it's almost consensus now for everyone I talk with lol
Weirdly enough I just looked at Drake’s discography last night because I didn’t/don’t know how long he’s been around. I remember seeing/hearing about some of his albums but many are completely unknown to me and I feel like Drake is one of those artists where maybe I’ve heard 10-15 of their songs without knowing who it was, but I never got the urge to dive in and check out his work and as the years have progressed, I don’t think I’ll ever get around to doing that.
Anyway, to get this thread back on track and not talking about a pile of shit, this album is really great. “Happy For You” has such a great happy but forlorn vibe. Great way to end the album.
Do people like that realize that if they talked about music like that IRL, people (I mean, non snobs) would just run away. Talk about being a pretentious buzzkiller
Larry Fitzmaurice is absolutely a hater. A genuinely annoying internet presence who was becoming more palatable after he quit drinking. It’s so funny to brag how he called Dua flopping when she hasn’t and on top of that, she had a huge hit just last year from one of the biggest movies of the decade.
Dude as someone who watched Degrassi The Next Generation as it would premiere, finding out Jimmy Brooks was becoming an up and coming successful rapper was wiiiiiiiild
It is significantly worse than if you’re reading this it’s too late, take care, and so far gone which are all still really great records. Thank me later is probably better than nothing was the same but not by much. Everything since 2016 has been absolutely atrocious besides more life but it still wasn’t that good
