Okay I’m glad I asked for clarification because at first I thought you meant like, Sia or Marshmello and I was like, what? Anyway obviously she doesn’t need to change anything but I do think it would make her more relatable is all
After a few listens, this is growing on me. I still feel like the strongest song is "Training Season" though
Oh yeah not literally anonymous more in terms of writing perspective. I do agree a littttttle more relatability would be welcome but I also don’t think she needs to reveal anything about herself to do so
I don't want her to go that route at all either. Having a pop star be so private and also somewhat giving this "living her life totally unbothered by social media etc" vibe is refreshing in this day & age and I like that she seems more like a Kylie Minogue type in that sense, even musically. Bring back mystique and untouchable pop stars too
The day her album dropped we had a pop star's personal life get raked over so I'm sure she's just fine doing what she's doing haha
I get that people like this never let reality get in the way of a good narrative, but c'mon, that Chappell Roan song has a chart peak in the 40s and that Madison Beer song isn't even on the Hot 100.
It is interesting how much bigger she is in the UK this album cycle (and in general, perhaps). I know that is where she is from so it should not be too surprising, but still.
Also, Dua's more muted success this era, at least in the US, makes me realize how hard it is for a popstar to actually garner consistent success here in the states. It makes what Adele has been able to do for all these years quite impressive.
Craig, this is the best two sentence post in an album thread for a female on their this album released in 2024. BRAVO!!
