Like I get that this was ultimately a tragic tale of modern male loneliness, but damn it executed it in such a weird almost distasteful way. Like the finale was so rapid fire as far as presenting and quickly dismissing potential alternatives. In like 15 minutes they were like "was it Bateman? No. Was it the wife? No. Was it the weird Umpire kid? No. Was it the fake Tiger Tiger? No. Was it the stepson? Nope. Floyd actually offed himself in a super sad tragic way. Shows over. Roll credits. "
Yeah it was crazy how abruptly it ended and we didn't see much of them reconciling with what happened. Only thing we really got was Clark's wife cleared out his house
Him screaming not to tell Floyd almost broke me when he was having his meltdown. Also do we think he intended to kill himself the whole time? He seemed to be genuinely happy with his experience with Clark. But then he was obviously broken up about the stepson seeing him there like that. I'm not sure how we were supposed to take that.
There was a line earlier in the season where Floyd mentioned that if his stepson found out what he's doing on DTF he'd be destroyed or something like that.
This was just sad and gloomy... Not sure it was ever really enjoyable beyond Richard Jenkins' reactions to the weird sex stuff. It was pretty heartbreaking that Floyd just died alone and never did get to feel a little better about himself.
