Dryjacket - For Posterity (January 13, 2017) Album

Very excited for this record, from a town (Evesham, NJ) about 5 minutes away from where I live!

hope it's better than their last few mediocre releases, would be nice for hopeless to at least have one good band. i'm cautiously optimistic

 

Wasn't a fan of their first ep, I like this tho. Don't love it. I think you might be into it @cwhit

 

yeah, the songs i've heard from this have been fine. i'll give it a listen, it'll probably be a solid listen that i listen a few times and then just fall off from. the sorority noise/iioi league of the last few years

 

Taking my first listen now, it's good so far. Definitely a step up from the EP.

Yeah it definitely falls in those two bands categories haha. Worth at least a couple listens

 

From the three songs I heard the production is crazy good. Sometimes im a sucker for great production and incredible guitar tones, also just super tight instrumentals, everything feels really good! I know that isn't necessarily what makes great art/songwriting but it's just something that could suck me in

 

The guitar work on the opening track is so good

The use of extended harmony can't be overstated with this record. Great use of 7th 9th and 13th chords in a way that still feels accessible

Checking this band out for the first time right now. Liking it. It reminds me of Into it. Over it. alot.

Oops, sorry. For some reason I thought I was in the Recommendation thread.

 

This is ha some semi technical riffs and licks in it. Wasn't expecting that from the one single I listened to. I like it!

 

The taping tricks are cool.. also I do enjoy the chord harmony.

 

I love the album, drums guitar bass sound incredible, great production and great writing.. I'm glad they use two singers bc the lead singer doesn't vary his voice enough, I think that's the one thing holding this back from being incredible. I really like/love it but if their vocals were just slightly more interesting it would push them into a new category for me
