I just want to put something positive into the world but it’s hard because I’m so full of poisonous rage

 

Checked this out because of the BNM from Pitchfork. It's good! The vocals are not totally my thing but they may grow on me with subsequent listens.

 

Dry Cleaning’s Everyday Surrealism

 

First time listening to this band. The guitar/bass riffs on this album are so catchy. It took me a bit to get into the vocals but now I'm solidly onboard.

 

Man, this post-punk wave and the fawning critical acclaim it receives is just not for me. Always a repetitive and drab slog to get through.

 

Counterpoint: it’s the best music actually

 

It’s interesting to me that the vocals are such a point of contention with this album because they’ve never struck me as anything other than perfectly fitting. Guess I see why the deadpan anti-singing thing wouldn’t be to some tastes but I can’t think of a delivery more suited to the tone of the music and lyrics.

 

Yea, I guess that's true, a lot of post-punk bands always kind of had that monotone vocal thing.

 

Yeah this is banging and is getting better on every listen

 

Looked up the lyrics and was amazed it's "A Ferrari with a license plate that says T337H"

 

Only Flo can make a line like that work!

ok the vocals on here remind me heavily of life without buildings, kinda into it

 

I've gotten obsessed with this band since this album came out, I listen to them almost daily at this point
