This feels very No-Sleepish of them. "Hey we havent been an active label in years, but pay us money now and we promise you'll get a neat record on time every month. Love always, Richard and Stefanie"
I really want Fenix Tx and Midtown albums on vinyl but with Blink tickets going on sale tomorrow I'm glad they aren't releasing yet. My wallet wouldn't have forgiven me with all these purchases
This is great to know. Do you know how this is actually going to work though? It says its a boxset but that the records will be revealed monthly. Are they selling a separate box to house them in? Just a weird roll out to me.
51 minutes ago Heard from a tiny bird: Every month there will be a la carte release for people who missed out on the box set along with more. There will be more than just the box set as well.
Said elsewhere but Finch being on next years when we were young fest makes me think they'll be included. Something corporate with the audioboxer ep as well
There's a pretty comprehensive list of "potential releases" on this Wikipedia page here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drive-Thru_Records) If you hone in on the ones that are EPs you may have a better guess as to what to expect from this box set.
So are we thinking Starting Line, Finch, Audioboxer and maybe… Hellogoodbye, Early November? Already have TSL on a better variant, Early November and the Has a Gambling Problem picture disc but I’d snag a few of the others probably. Hoping for some full album represses like What It Is To Burn, Benjamins and Dead Ends and Girlfriends to complete my drive thru collection. Feels a little underwhelming initially but hopefully a lot more to come… TTTH have a good track record so fingers crossed
As much as I enjoy the music off a lot of these EPs, I really don’t want vinyl that isn’t a full length album. It’s really irritating to me to be constantly flipping record sides for 1-2 songs. I’m here for For All of This and B-sides to make up a full length or something like that.
Early November, HIPV, and senses fail EPs would be ideal in my opinion. Based on pure hype, if i had to guess I'd say the EPs will end up being NFG, Midtown, Finch, and SoCo...possibly Midtown/Movielife replacing one of those.
I guess this is a little more detail from their mailing list email: I honestly couldn't care for all that extra stuff tbh. It's just going to inflate the cost.
I'm starting to back off on preordering. If it was just the box and the EPS, I'd be content with those alone. Not all this... Stuff. Wish they'd just come out with the price already! Couldn't the box just be a makeshift pizza box?!
im not about to drop 200 bucks or whatever theyre gonna charge for this stuff. i'll just buy a la carte if theres anything i dont have already/want...
This box set subscription has the feel of Richard and Stefanie trying to raise some capital to fund it - which may end up in us seeing not much at all. I really hope I’m completely wrong; just things haven’t gone to plan in the past!
i just checked the site and even now that it's on sale, it still doesn't tell you what the other EP's are. At $179 or $299, i need to know what I'm getting. PASS.
