New Patterson Hood solo album in February next year.

 

That is uhhh quite an impressive list of collaborators goddamn

 

And in the initial pass I totally missed Steve Berlin from Los Lobos. Excited for this for sure

obligatory “oh if this is a solo record what have the last 3 dbt records been” joke tho

 

my friend who knows the band told me about some of these collaborators over the summer but called it "the new DBT record" I wonder if it was a last minute decision to make it a true solo record or if they just didn't get all the info

 

man the patterson single is great

 

Thought the new Patterson album was just fine. Some good stuff on here but probably nothing I’ll come back to all that often. Doesn’t mean others won’t love it, I’ve always been pretty middle of the road on all of his work. Drive by Truckers are prob number one on my list of bands I should love based on everything else I’m into but they just never really click for me for whatever reason.

not the best record i’ve ever heard but some cool stuff and cool to hear patterson’s voice more restrained

van pelt parties is one of the best songs he’s written in years

I held off on the Dirty South reissue because I didn’t like Pattersons rerecordings but it seems pretty inevitable that I will spring for this lol

 

i bought and love that and will buy and love this

 

(Truth serum would reveal that I do slightly regret not buying and occasionally hover over copies on Discogs lol)

 

Such a great album.

 

if tommy tuberville becomes the governor and bruce pearl becomes a senator of alabama we are going to get an insane album from patterson & mike
