My dude just because it's Side A and Side B don't mean it's not part of the same album called Scorpion

Sure maybe it'll be Side A is the great side or Side B is more to your liking. But as Scoripion as a whole? Yea it's gonna be weaker thanks to that. The more songs there is the more chance it's gonna have a whole lotta filler

People get so salty over long albums in hip hop it’s wild

Then folks like Tierra Whack and Pusha T drop super condensed albums and folks want more

I am not “your dude” first of all.

It’s being promoted as a double album. Yes it’s all Scorpion but it’s two distinct movements that can easily be listened to as that. Dunno why people are getting crazy over this.

I consume my music in separate 45 sec sessions - almost no one caters to me

  7. only reason it's 25 tracks is to game the streaming numbers

So are people at the end of the year gonna be putting Side A of Scorpion on AOTY lists? But nah not Side B forget that one.

I guess this could be a test in that so maybe you're right but as of right now I like to judge the quality of an album as a whole. And to me the more tracks, regardless of sides and movements, the more potential it is to have that filler and be weaker.

Again I hope I'm proven wrong!

How do you complain about too much music? Drake is at a point in his career where many before him have slowed down (possibly even regressed a little bit in their craft), but here he is coming out with the largest project of his career and has yet to lose his spark. It's not like this man has not given you enough mixtapes, albums, playlists etc. Double album from Drizzy in 2018 is something to admire.

Double album's a good move for someone on Drake's level and obviously super smart in a steaming environment.

As already mentioned, doing it this way feeds the people who want a straight rap album in the vein of IYRTITL and the Take Care stans who want him to release more "Fall For Your Type" music. Everyone gets what they want, and two 12/13 song projects can be cohesive.

In the meantime, he's going to be on twice as many streaming playlists, there will be 637 articles about the "perfect 1 disc" version of the album to drive more engagement, and (as everyone has already said) he'll super-juice his streaming numbers.

I think people are hoping for quality over quantity and skeptical of his motives in releasing 25 songs at once.

When you're coming off of Views which was not an ideal album imo

Like more power to Drake as I have said numerous times now but I'm just voicing my own concerns that I think a few others share

He's coming off of More Life which is one of his best projects tho

I'm guessing we'll get 15 very good tracks out of this which is very exciting

I would be a lot more concerned if he was coming straight off Views but More Life really redeemed him (and Views still has a handful of his best ever tracks).

So curious to see who pops up on this.

It's 25 tracks long so I expect at least 13 good songs.
