Maybe my brain is too Taylor-cooked, but my immediate reaction is that he's trying to set new records. First artist to have the top 3 albums, 3 chart debuts at once, a ton of songs charting, etc etc etc

He’ll be the first since Michael to occupy the top 3 spots for sure.

The Iceman album is pretty good though

    Through all 3 now

Iceman is definitely the centerpiece, really good

could be in the upper echelon of Drake albums

Habibti is very r&b drake, some good ones on there but after hearing Iceman I’m kinda like, cool maybe later.

Maid of Honour has some fun different club geared songs, the most fuck around of the three, it’s fine

the other two could detract from how good iceman is for some people for sure, but does kinda paint an impressive picture of his versatility even if it’s a hard to digest amount of music

ICEMAN is incredible, he’s rapping his ass off on a lot of these tracks

Iceman was played during the stream earlier.

The RNB album you don’t really have to listen to and can skim to know what it is which to me is super boring.

    Killing Nothing

My initial thoughts as seemingly the biggest Drake fan on this website:

Iceman lived up to the hype. This is exactly what I wanted from him. It’s the first time he’s done a solo front-to-back rap album since IYRTITL (or disc 1 of Scorpion, I guess) and I’m so glad this is a part of his discography. Gonna be spinning this all year! 10/10

Habibiti is, on first listen, Drake’s worst solo album. It pales in comparison to $$$4U. It’s like he got out all his good rnb songs on that album and there wasn’t much left for this one. Outside of “Slap the City”, “Classic”, “White Bone” and “Fortworth” I’m not sure how much I’ll return to this. Hoping it’ll grow on me. 5/10

Maid of Honour is a fun listen but I’m not really that into dancehall/club music so this side of Drake’s sound has always been the least interesting to me. This is basically Honestly, Nevermind pt2. I can see myself listening to this in the summer months maybe. 6/10

Probably my favourite from Maid of Honour, this song is a vibe

This middle run here is all pretty good. He's not doing anything new or particularly interesting, but I like the beats. Where are the bangers though? Are there any bangers across this fucking 10 hour project? I miss Headlines

I feel like Drake albums used to have 2-3 tracks that were absolute stunner beats (with a switchup) and him spitting, and then the rest of the record was a solid mix of pop bangers and the slow stuff. Iceman is all in that first category (stunner beats to varying degrees). It's nice to listen to, but I am desperate for variety. I will prematurely say this is my favorite thing from him since maybe Views? I don't see myself going back to it very often, and it's too long. It's like a good J. Cole album.

I kinda have a similar thought, feels like gamifying the system, releasing music as a dump, not because he wants to put out a well-curated project.

nice to see that a couple of these records are under an hour though. I’ll probably listen to Iceman this weekend
