3k really is the best rapper alive but yeah finally listened to this whole album and like every drake album since NWTS there’s a solid album in there somewhere. But alas he’ll never give us a solid album again as long as streaming is the way it is. Booo
Finally listening and this just feels like every Drake album since 2015. It’s presented very well, the production sounds nice, he hasn’t grown or matured whatsoever, and it’s entirely too long.
That true, but I'd also argue it's is less enjoyable than nearly every Drake album since 2015 as well. Shit is stale
“7am” lives up to its title. Most inspired he sounds on the album by a long shot, which might explain why he keeps feeding the Kanye beef. I don’t really ascribe to “guilty pleasure” listening — like what you like — but I am not giving this album more listens because I’d honestly be so annoyed if Drake ended up on a most played artists list of mine just because he tricked me into looping 21 mediocre songs five or six times.
This is just boring for the most part. He doesn't even really sound like he wants to be recording half of these songs, and nothing on here sounds like something that couldn't have been any any of his last few albums. The only one that actually sounds like he's trying something new is Way 2 Sexy, and that song is so dumb that I kind of like it lol For me the other standouts are TSU, the second half of N 2 Deep, No Friends in the Industry, Knife Talk, 7AM and You Only Live Twice (which Wayne MURDERS). I'm the biggest Cudi fan on earth so I really enjoy his part of IMY2 but Drake's part brings it down. That's about it, which is not good for an 86 minute long album
Papi’s Home You Only Live Twice Way 2 Sexy Champagne Poetry Fair Trade Race My Mind The Remorse keep the rest
no friends in the industry and you only live twice are the only two tracks ive come back to since my initial listen.
Okay add Race My Mind to the songs I like, that song just clicked for me a lot So that makes 8 songs for me now lol
It's honestly insane the kind of numbers Drake can still pull regardless of actual music quality Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart With Biggest Week for an Album in Over a Year The biggest week since folklore dropped, biggest week for a rap album since Scorpion
"in the last five years, only albums by Drake and Swift have been as big or bigger in a single week" fucking insane
Kanye can't even come remotely close CLB first week: 613k equivalent units Donda first week: 309k album equivalent units
