  1. Not exactly as egregious as Kanye's Manson shit but like...how hard is it to just not sample it

  2. Also Drake saying "I'm actually Michael Jackson" on this, not the look he thinks it is!

  4. This thing just has no point of view at all. Sure there are some great features here (I will always be a sucker for a Project Pat feature and I really like that track) but god there really isn’t any kind of through-line here to grasp onto. At least Scorpion had Nice For What amid all of the filler

R Kelly sample is also unforgivable imo. I’d argue it’s about on the same level as the Kanye/Manson shit because it’s so hard to imagine that the controversy isn’t the point of it

Point has been made 100 times, but when he dropped More Life and the numbers were bonkers for a low effort/mid "album", he realized he can get away with autopilot mode on big releases because the insane streaming numbers will be there regardless of how much or how little effort he puts into an album

  7. Damn this sucks lol

Travis feature had me floating though. Lil Baby verse was great but the song that surrounds is like a top 5 most embarassing Drake song to date.

That Wayne verse is definitely the album highlight.

I'm gonna give this another full listen and then trim it down to 10 tracks. Even that might be too many lol

Jeez I didn't even know about this. I'm a little confused, is he actually sampling an R Kelly song, or is he using a sample that was also sampled in an R Kelly song?
    Either way, whyyyyyyy.

I read somewhere else that the NSYNC song that he samples had a R Kelly credit on it, therefore it carries through. Honestly it sounds like no one knows exactly where the credit comes from but it's definitely from a sample one way or another

Even if you sample a song that samples another song I think you have to still credit the original sample. I believe that is the case with the The Beatles sample which came from a Masego song in which that is where The Beatles sample came from.

I mean I highly doubt drake thought “r Kelly is a predator which is awesome because I am too so I’m gonna sample his music,” tbh I think drakes just an idiot who is oblivious to the fact that it’s just not a good idea to do something like that

the verve pipe made no money on bittersweet symphony because it samples an orchestra playing a Rolling Stones song and all royalties went to mick jager and Keith Richards. Or something like that. I mean sampling laws are archaic

So I am not trying to cover for the use of the R. Kelly sample but if R. Kelly signed away his publishing which I believe is the case, then he is not getting any money from its use anyway. Still not a great look.

I believe Oliva Rodrigo just got into a whole mess by not claiming all the samples on one of her songs. I think Paramore ended up getting credits later on due to that.

I’m still confused as to why Timbaland and Timberlake are credited to that song too. It’s not like either of them have to do with writing “Sailing,” even on the nsync song.

That case is bullshit it’s not a sample or anything it just vaguely sounds somewhat reminiscent of a song that might be inspired by misery business, paramore do not deserve any money from that and it’s embarrassing that they are
