my expectations for both were rock fucking bottom, donda at least had a few great songs and some other good moments scattered throughout and some intriguing lyrical content. this just has nothing.

ross and wayne literally just saved this album. that song is an absolute stunner.

 

My view of Hurricane was "wow not even the weeknd can save this boring ass song" and Moon was "Cudi sounds good"

Kid Cudi is good in theory, but his full albums almost always suck. They all have good tracks, but never as a whole since the fist one

 

Lil Wayne was the only person on here who sounded like he knew millions of people were going to hear him. Haven’t heard that energy from him in awhile.

 

passin pain and demon slayin was better but i love those albums for the sheer fact that they're something different and honest. i mean, theyre horrible, but theyre interesting

haha ok fair. I think that PPDS is definitely the better album and probably the best after like, Indicud but yeah... he has a long-album problem too and could learn to edit. You're right that Speedin Bullet at least was different, I just found it soooo extremely hard to get through

I'm a broken record here, but damn Carter V could have been legendary if he cut the 5-10 worst tracks because there's some honestly great stuff on there

he literally perfected this type of song 11 years ago why does he always go back and try it again

 

i cant stand the industry side of mainstream rap. because thats all it is, just a way to game streaming numbers, there's no artistic thought put behind it and just reeks of upper management meddling.
