This is really fantastic, imo. I like it more than anything post-NWtS. The incorporation of world and dance sounds is an avenue that really pays off and the guests are great and really help carry the weight.

 

Damn. Gotta swallow my pride and admit I kinda really like this. Certainly better than everything since Take Care. Good job Drake Inc. LLC.

 

Still tho. Next time chop this shit over 2 albums.

I've been saying "free shmoke, free shmoke" off and on every day since this came out

 

He needs to chill with the fake accents tho

 

When I played this in the car with my girlfriend for the first time, she asked me who Shmo was

 

After digesting this for a week, I've created a playlist called Less Life because its too goddamn long. Consists of the following:

Free Smoke
Passionfruit
Get It Together
Mabida Riddim
Gyalchester
Portland
Teenage Fever
Can't Have Everything
Glow
Do Not Disturb

May add or remove one or two but I'm fairly certain that these are my fave tracks

 

Idk, I guess this is better than Views (which I Still don't think is that bad) in the sense some the songs are better, the throwback and carribean/house vibes are really nice, but it obviously suffers from the same length issues are there are definitely some not great tracks here. Definitely cutting "No Long Talk," "Skepta Interlude" (sorry, not sorry), "Nothings Into Somethings (wtf is that beat) and "KMT" from my version. Gonna play with the sequencing for future listens, too

 

I'm still so surprised how great this turned out.

 

"Skepta Interlude" is definitely a highlight to me.

 

i hope if passionfruit goes to radio there's a radio edit i can download without the intro

 

I want it to be popular just so they can edit out that part.

 

Not sure if I really enjoy this album as a whole yet, but damn, do I enjoy Passionfruit and Teenage Fever.

 

this is how I've arranged mine at the moment. but I'm still going to go back and listen to the other ones not in here. It's the most fun I've had in a Drake-related thing since NWTS.

Also just listened to Take Care again. This album is so crazy.

 

The day after this released I did exactly that and felt so clever on the playlist name. I feel like there's a million more of us out there who named it Less Life.

 

Am happy to say that this project makes Views look like a blip in his career.

It's still bloated as hell, and there's a few more clankers than I'd like, but there's enough here to group it with TC/NWTS/IYRTITL and it not negatively stand out.

It's just so bloated that I don't feel like going back through to find songs I like more than the 2 or 3 that's jumped out to me on first listen.

But I do really love listening to it front to back tbh. I don't find it drags anywhere at all, surprisingly. I've already listened to this in full more times than Views. Overall faves at the moment are Passionfruit, Get It Together, Madiba Riddim, Blem, and Sacrifices.

 

I really need to find some stuff in the vein of (and not blatantly appropriated) "Madiba Riddim". That's become one of my favorites
