Agree with you, but he's realistically never going to release a project under 16 songs again. Doesn't make any sense from a streaming numbers perspective.
Already love 10 tracks from this. I'll see if the rest grows on me. Way better than Views. Actually got me excited for album 5.
Now that I've given this a full comprehensive listen this is surprisingly probably my favorite Drake project since NWTS. I like all of his stuff (Views gets too much hate even though it's the weakest of the four studio albums besides TML, and IYRTITL has pretty bad filler problems imo), but I really wasn't expecting to like this nearly this much. He'll never top TC and NWTS but I'm really happy I still like his music unlike a lot of other people
I've liked what I've heard from this just fine but More Life overall leaves a bad taste in my mouth for not having the OVOXO collab that I've been waiting for
Does anyone know if the piano bit in Sacrifice is a sample? It sounds familiar to me but I can't place it.
I want more of what he's doing on "Get it Together" and "Passionfruit" "Lose You" is Peak Petty Drake. A few tracks could be cut imo but this is really strong. Does a much better job integrating the "tropic" influence than Views
Fake Love rules so hard. I feel like it would work really well as an opener. Trying to make my own playlist out of this playlist, cutting off a few songs, and I'm definitely putting that song as an opener.
There's a really good twelve-song album in here. Free Smoke No Long Talk Jorja Interlude Gyalchester Skepta Interlude Portland Sacrifices Can't Have Everything Glow Fake Love Ice Melts Do Not Disturb I could do without everything else. I'd say this was better than Views if it was just those twelve, but with the other ten tracks included it's probably equal for me.
I'm just not a fan of that sound, personally. I also think Drake's done much better in terms of the slower stuff on here. Hence, I eliminated those from my list lol
4422, Passion Fruit, and Teenage Fever are probably my favorites so far. I love the more tropical, Caribbean music, but I hate his fake accent so much. The instrumentals themselves take me back to my childhood and it feels nice, but I don't want to hear drake say ting ever again
This is also my top 3, then pretty much every track with a feature listed immediately after. Except From Way Back because PND is so bad//wack.
I saw the headline for p4ks "Mapping Drakes Intentional Wave-Riding On 'More Life' and rolled my eyes so hard that I went blind.
local radio is playing every song off more life today. Right now it's playing glow so I picked a good time to listen.
Craig Jenkins posted a good review of this worth reading. Made the point that despite a longer run time, it feels shorter and is less of a total slog to get through. IMO I'd only cut like 5-6 songs max
