Is the irony of Quavo saying "never let someone ride your wave" on the chorus of a song with Drake and Travis Scott intentional or nah?
Almost listened to the end of this now (needed breaks lol), compared to my first listen of Views I probably enjoy this more. I don't hate the idea of him embracing a lack of cohesion, just throw all of his Drake stuff at the wall and let people pick what they like. Passionfruit is definitely the jam here, as seems to be popular opinion. Also dig Ice Melts, Can't Have Everything, and Get it Together. Sampha and Skepta tracks are great too.
I love this project, even if it is too long. The first half does exactly what I thought Views would try to do by combining dancehall and grime. Definitely sinks into some Take Care/Views-esque navel gazing around the back half, but that's fine... everyone has their own favorite flavor of Drake and that's kind of the point of this project. It's a DJ mix where every song's a new Drake song. I wish that he would've taken a chance by not selling it in the first week. He doesn't need the money and I would love to have seen if he could go #1 on streams alone.
yeah there's some great stuff on here and it's far and away better than Views, but it's still bloated. much like Views, I don't think I'll ever listen to this front to back ever again
the one tiny thing that annoys me is the intro to passionfruit but that be one of my favorite songs next to the Thug featured tracks.
