I got really used to watching sub only with Super so not bothered by the dub being behind a bit. I'm soooo excited for this.
English dub trailer was released. Episodes 1-3 (english dub) will premiere in US theaters Nov. 10th, 11th, and 12th.
Hearing that version of Goku's voice brought on some SERIOUS nostalgia! I haven't heard that in years.
Oh shit, that rules actually? With Crunchyroll hiking up their price so much I was not looking forward to figuring out how to pirate this haha
So I should buy a PS5 just to play this, right? Im going to have FOMO pretty bad but luckily Daima is out next week so that might keep me occupied lol Side note - anyone watch Sand Land on Hulu? Basically the same art and animation style as Daima so that makes me even more excited
I won’t buy a PS5/Xbox just for this so I’ll have to wait until it’s ported to Switch 2. Hopefully it’s a Budokai Tenkaichi 2 situation where that game was ported to the Wii for its launch.
Im excited for DAIMA but holding off till the dub starts dropping since its the only way I've ever watched any DB shows/movies. Looks like they're showing the first 3 eps in theaters mid November so I got a bit of a wait. Doing the same waiting game with the new Bleach season.
I'm going to watch the subbed version since that's how I watched all of Super, but I think I'll still probably try to catch the theatrical release of the dubbed episodes if they're playing near me.
Not going to spoil anything so don't worry, but half way through the first episode now and there has been TONS of new lore dropped (kind of subtly actually) about the Kais, Majins, Demons, Namekians, etc. It's kind of wild. Really enjoying this so far. It's similar in tone to most of the newer movies than it is to Super.
I enjoyed the first episode. I agree they dive more into the characters that were introduced in the Buu saga and half the episode is exposition. This also confirms it takes place between the Buu saga and Super, if it's canon
There is one aspect of this show that refutes part of your last point. Kibito Kai was already unfused (hilariously by Majin Buu so the "retcon" from Super was now RE-implemented as being true here). In the manga and anime of Super, he only splits back into Kibito and Supreme Kai just before the U6 Tournament. So that one contradiction there sort of points to this being either non-canon or at least a somehow different canon than Super.
I still don’t even understand how the last movie plays into the timeline, but I also never got around to reading the manga so idk what happens after the anime ended. Well I know some vague spoilers but still.
Also just realized the confirmation that namekians are from the demon realm is a nice callback as to why evil Piccolo was referred to as Demon King Piccolo in OG dragonball
