This was one of my favorite chapters in a long time. I never really thought that I could ever get tired of Dragon Ball becoming the Goku and Vegeta show, but I'm realizing that I truly love this series every time they start focusing on any of the supporting cast. Goten and Trunks were always criminally underutilized anyway, but their adult versions are some pretty obvious untapped wells for future stories.
Finally received my manga set. The coloring is much smoother than I imagined it would be. The pages also have a glossy finish. Even better, each volume has 6 Q&A about the creation of the characters, the moves, locations, and even the vehicles. Would recommend these over the black and white versions. The colored manga series also goes through GT.
I purchased it from Shopee. This set is Taiwanese mandarin (although the sound effects are still in Japanese). Here is volume 1 of the “boyhood” arc in Japanese https://www.amazon.co.jp/ドラゴンボール-フル...?dplnkId=34dee57d-ab8e-4140-b14b-836e6c1e20b1 The entire 8-volume set. https://www.amazon.co.jp/ドラゴンボール-フル...?dplnkId=4cbb4942-3653-45dd-9ee6-fca192b69202 The colored manga is odd in that the numbering resets with each arc. For example, the Cell Games will be the Cell Arc #4 and #5 and followed by World Tournament/Babidi Arc #1
I would move Tournament of Power to B tier, the Pilaf and 21st tournament Saga to A, and the 22nd tournament/Piccolo/Piccolo Jr saga to Z tier. Buu Saga goes to B tier but I’ll keep Android/Cell and Namek Saga in Z
new manga chapter. They’re adapting the latest movie now VIZ: Read Dragon Ball Super, Chapter 91 Manga - Official Shonen Jump From Japan
So is Crunchyroll the only way for me to rewatch DBZ? I already have so many other streaming services dammit lol. Unless there's another country I can VPN into to get it on Netflix or Prime or something..
Been waiting for Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure remains one of the best games of the franchise. Hope they dive even more into Dragon Ball. Red Ribbon saga would be great for the next DLC
For all the annoying horny humor of the original Dragonball, there are occasional bits that just kill me. This clip is like 20 episodes in and at no point before this is it acknowledged that Krillin is the only character without a nose
as someone who beat the hell out of it, it is a 9/10 Dragon Ball game and a 6 or 7 out of 10 video game. it is like the Sonic grading curve. it's like the team wanted the game to be bigger in scope but bailed on that early in development, because after Future Trunks first arrives the game gets a lot more streamlined and less frustrating
Someone who discovered dlc 4 & 5 before they were announced is claiming that dlc 6 will be the end of dbz and a season 3 is being planned.
On the Babidi Saga of DBZ Kai now and god this is taking so damn long to get to Buu the only real saving grace is Trunks/Goten. Whenever they are not on screen, all of the characters should be asking, “where’s Trunks and Goten?” Really absurd that they’ve been completely sidelined in Super, given that Goku/Krillin/Gohan were all constantly risking their lives as small children. But then we get kids who are both at minimum Android 18-level strength and suddenly it’s like “oh they’re just kids we better keep them out of harm’s way.” Like how do you have fucking Roshi and Tien in the Tournament of Power over those two lol. They’re also just way more entertaining too
They were going to use Goten and Trunks in the TOP but if I remember correctly they didn’t want to use kids since the goal of the tournament was not to kill but just to knock people out of bounds so they wanted more experienced fighters when it came to “tournament rules”. Goten and Trunks also recently were the main focus for a few chapters in the latest Super arc in the manga.
I think it was more of a “the kids would goof around and get knocked out of bounds” mentality since the tournament relied more on that but who knows. I just remember Piccolo or someone mentioned it in a couple sentences and it’s never brought up again. There isn’t much context to it
Yeah, it was definitely more that they didn't trust the kids to take it seriously and cooperate with the other members of the team on the more boring but effective strategies (conserving energy, working together, staying near the center, etc.) They tend to favor the more theatrical, showboat-y fights. They are definitely strong (especially as Gotenks) but they can't be trusted to NOT show off like they did against Buu. haha.
Tien and Roshi basically have seniority, which I don’t mind because they’re great. One character who needs to actually have a role in Super is Hercule. Homie is a true hero in a field of people he shouldn’t be around but is just Buu’s maid now.
