Just watch DBS super hero. I never really enjoyed the 3D animation, especially compared to DBS Broly. The story was okay and I’m glad the Red Ribbon Army was brought back to be antagonists, but some of the finer details were kind of jarring (like Piccolo allowing to pretend Pan was kidnapped just to give Gohan a reason to fight). Cell Max becoming a giant was also eh. I would have preferred he stayed smaller to allow for a better choreographed fight. Overall I’d say it’s a 7.2/10
I actually found the final fight to be the worst part of the movie. The spotlight on Piccolo for the majority of the movie was by far the best part. I’m curious to see how these new forms stack up against Blue and UI, where they are in the power hierarchy. Feel like we didn’t really get a good sense, especially with the throwaway villain. Since DB came back, this is the first movie where I felt like the villain was totally throwaway like the old non-canon movies.
Yeah, it seems like the old movies always had those gigantic, oversized villains (Wheelo, Lord Slug, Bio-Broly, Janemba, Hirudegarn). I never really liked those as much even though the action was sort of fun. In regards to the power scaling, it's not really worth it to try to figure out the "power levels" in Super. Any character is stronger than another at any given time for no rhyme or reason. haha. DBZ got a little out of control with the power scaling towards the end, but I liked how for the longest time you always knew how characters stacked up against each other. It made the villains feel untouchable too because they were clearly a tier above the heroes until one of them ascended to a new level.
If y'all think Super is getting bad, I started Heroes out of pure curiosity and it is a fucking doozy. It feels like it was written by an eight year old.
I haven't followed it in a while but I check in on the YouTube titles every once in a while to see how ridiculous it is. SS4 Broly and Majin Omega Shenron vs. SS3 Cumber (new Saiyan character), Golden Metal Cooler, Golden Frieza, Goku and Vegeta. I wish I was exaggerating, but that is legitimately a fight that happens.
i took it as gohan reached SS3, not a brand new undiscovered power level. piccolo's, on the other hand, i sure would like to know.
Gohan’s new form would be way higher than SS3, as Goku said Ultimate Gohan was stronger than himself at SS3 during the Buu saga
That whole scene plus the shot of Bulma bent over looking through the cabinets....all shots held for way too long. Just gratuitous at that point.
I understood the Bulma one because of the general perversion that has always been there, but the two men seemed odd considering the intended audience. If it was a live-action movie I would have thought the camera was off.
Well I meant I probably wouldn't have thought much about any of those scenes had the shots not lasted so long. After like 10 seconds of looking at it, I'm like "Alright, I get it, that's enough" lol.
his hair. his hair looked somewhat like goku's does when he's SS3. that's the only logic i could find behind that opinion.
I read the first arc and it was just wild. Literally everything wraps up in one chapter. I'm not used to that kinda of consistency from DB. lol
Good slice of life feeling with this chapter. Seeing Goten and Trunks take up saiyaman personas felt very pre-Majin Buu in a good way
