I think they say something about how Kid Buu isn't necessarily the strongest but he is the wildest. Logically, Super Buu with all the people he absorbed should be the strongest. Destroying a planet isn't that big of a deal because Nappa could do it way back when.
Dumb, who cares about being wild when it’s up against the best fighters. It should be like when an NBA player doesn’t fall for some street player’s fakeouts Also they really should have had some form of Gohan/Goten/Gotenks defeat him in the end. Even if it was with a spirit bomb just like how Goku did it. How are you gonna leave it to the next generation with Cell but then come right back and reclaim the throne
I think the anime/dub does a disservice with this. Goku actually says that he and Vegeta won’t be able to beat Super Buu even though he reverted back after absorbing Gohan, but shortly after, he wants to take on Kid Buu solo. So Super Buu > Kid Buu, yet they all talk about how he has some unbelievable strength now for some reason. It’s odd. re: new movie - that trailer looks…odd. But I’m excited for a few things there. Piccolo obviously gets screen time, Broly looks to be back, Pan is older so I would assume Goten and Trunks will stop being 2 ft tall.
Onto the Super portion of my rewatch. The from the Buu arc to the Battle of Gods arc is actually much more seamless than I expected considering there's like 20 years difference between the two in real life. Side note - I've been let down over and over based on my expectations that Gohan will return to form one of these days, but I really hope he gets some time to shine in the new movie or something in the future. There are several times in Super that various characters point out Gohan's potential, and I know he regained his power from the Buu saga, but he's hardly done anything of significance in quite a while.
Really need to catch up on the post-anime Super manga. Started reading it a while back and wanted to take it slow so I didn’t just burn through it, but that quickly turned into me forgetting to ever pick it back up
I don't know that is has gotten that much further lol. The month turn around is a lot. We are still only on the second post-anime arc.
Oh wow, yeah this comment made me just go look. Assumed I’d be in much worse shape by now. Guess I haven’t been sleeping that hard! Looks like I’m on 52
It's really good, but yeah it hasn't gotten that far. haha. The manga was also like 9 months behind the anime so that also probably made it seem like you'd be further behind. Obviously I don't actually know, but it doesn't even feel like this current arc is coming to a close any time soon either.
I’m digging more Bardock lore tbh. It’s actually crazy how little Goku knows about him (even his name) despite the fact that Bardock has been pretty prevalent in all types of Dragon Ball things throughout the years. I like how he’s more just a bad soldier who kind of has a change of heart near the end of his story and they aren’t necessarily treating him as a “good” guy… he just happened to be on the right side of this particular situation.
