Same. Hopefully they at least put him on one of the manga covers so you can get a real feel for what he looks like.
Colored editions have been coming out digitally in Japan pretty close after the release. Won’t be long before we see how this looks!
Was hoping they’d announce the villain. Why does the animation look like a video game? Not a fan of that
Wow, that was a pretty great chapter. Vegeta's powers are so damn cool. My prediction for the way it starts to work out. - The old Namekian finds Goku and heals him - The two of them have to stop the Heeters from getting the dragon balls - Granolah defeats Vegeta and attacks Goku which allows the Heaters to make a wish - This Gas guy (who we've yet to see fight) makes a similar wish to the one Granolah makes - Granolah realizes he was duped, and now the guys have to team up to fight the Heeters - I'm 50/50 on whether or not Frieza will show up
Randomly watching some of Super again, and I still can't get over how convoluted and contrived the ending of the Goku Black saga is (even by Dragon Ball standards). I mean, Trunks uses a new energy sword technique that somehow defeats Zamasu even though it's made from like 70 humans' energy. Then Zamasu fuses with the universe itself and Goku has to pull the most literal deus ex machina of all time to just erase him. Trunks essentially fails and then he goes off to live in his consolation prize universe with a duplicate of himself... What the hell? What I don't understand is why they made this so utterly complicated and didn't go with a possible ending they already sort of had set up. They didn't even explore what would happen if they removed or destroyed Black's time ring. It was said to be the only thing that saved him from being erased by Beerus along with his original timeline... Just make Trunks destroy the time ring (or cut his deformed hand off) to erase him. That way you actually defeat an immortal enemy in a reasonable way, no deus ex machina from Zeno, no weird "Zamasu is the universe" thing, no Trunks going to live with another version of himself... So weird.
What’s hilarious is that a show as unrepentantly stupid as DBZ went all in on trying to make sense of a time traveling multiverse
That's another thing that irritated me about that plot... The simple explanation was right in front of them: Trunks altered the timeline when he traveled back, just leave it at that. Instead they explained it with some weird causal loop that was inexplicably altered by Beerus (they never explain how Black was initially created without being erased by Beerus). Again, it's like they had a simple plot right in front of them and tried to get waaay too complicated for no real reason.
The Super manga has gotten much better after the anime ended imo. The Moro arc was great and the granola arc is doing well as of now
They’ve been continuing the manga since 2018, but holding out on the anime. There’s been rumors it’s because Toriyama doesn’t want the anime clashing with the manga after Toei animation altered minor changes to the story due to the anime being slightly ahead of of the manga at the time of release. Hopefully they start the anime back up again once the manga is well ahead.
When it’s comes to the anime, so did I. The artwork and animation of GT looks much better than most of Super which is odd since GT was made 2 decades prior lmao
Super seemed way rushed and yeah I'm talking about the anime. I liked the Super manga a lot more, probably about on par with GT. I think I liked GT as a kid a lot more than most people did though, ha.
I feel like we might get a clearer picture on the anime once this movie comes out or we know more about the plot and when it takes place. It’s going to be weird if the movie jumps ahead of the manga, but I don’t really know what else they would do. I honestly can’t tell what they’re doing with the anime because they won’t comment on it either way. But I’m cool with the occasional movie.
GT had some amazing character designs. I wish they’d find a way to make “Super Saiyan 4” canon in Super just so they can use that design.
GT was fine and had some cool stories, but some of the choices were strange, I guess. Goku becoming a kid was obviously not a move that everyone liked, but also the fact that they made everyone else completely useless was a bummer. Also a lot of the time it felt like Goku was holding back for no reason which got old (I know he does it in Super as well but GT always made it seem like he was legitimately struggling). The villains were all awesome though.
