Honestly I don't view any of Super as canon. It's fanfiction, just being made by the original creator, haha.

 

That has become my view too. At this point, I only view the original manga as canon.

 

Yeah exactly. No ridiculous debates about what is considered the TRUE story. It's just more fun if you look at this as a "what-if" sort of thing. Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. Either way, GT is irrelevant. haha.

 

Trust me, it hasn't been easy to avoid anything that the dub hasn't shown yet online. I heard Trunks came back, but I don't know what black Kakarot is.

I did read the manga for Z so I agree on that.

 

I consider Super canon, since the original creator is involved and it's following the stories in his way. GT on the other hand, I forget it existed intentionally. I couldn't even get past the fist six episodes when it aired.

 

Yeah a good think about this show is that a lot of the spoilers kind of make no sense even if you do hear them aside from people coming back.

 

I still like GT a lot more than Super, ha.

 

Super, in general, is canon I guess, but my point is that the anime, movies, and manga diverge at certain points and there are retcons so there's still no hard line about what is "canon". That word just creates a lot of confusion. It's just more fun to enjoy the ride.

And also, the Goku Black mystery arc is very fun although that's where things start to get weird. haha.

 

I do agree that what is considered cannon is technically subjective and worrying about what is and isn't makes it more bogged down instead of enjoyable.

As someone who owns GT, how is this possible haha. Literally The Goku Show

 

Dragon Ball has made such a big to-do about timelines and alternate ones/universes that anything can pretty much be reasoned as being an alternate timeline.

 

Goku is easily my favourite character, ha. Plus SSJ4 and Pan. Beerus is my least favourite Dragon Ball related thing and I don't like the Super Saiyan Blue or Golden Frieza and the animation is horrific.

 

Pan makes me want to go deaf and Beerus is my favorite character haha.

The last two eps have had legitimately movie quality animation, at least. Golden Frieza's transformation recently was goddamn beautiful.

Admittedly I'm far from caught up with Super, I dropped the anime during the Black Goku arc because I heard the manga was better and I'm just gonna stick with that for now. Maybe at some point I'll catch up but it was just constantly bad when I was watching.

 

Haven't watched GT in forever, but I remember always being frustrated with it. It seemed like Goku was the only one strong enough to do anything through the entire series, but half the time he would fight in base form for way too long and struggle with them before he would realize "Oh yeah, I can go SS4".

 

GT was also just as fan-servicey as Super, just worse. Like "let's bring back Cooler" and "let's do an arc where Android 17 fuses with Android 17"

 

Then the parts that COULD have been cool were just thrown out. They built up Uub forever, created Majuub, then he got absorbed in like 4 minutes in the only fight he had. Granted he kind of did it on purpose, but still. They pretty much wrote him out. They also stopped adult Gotenks from happening which was frustrating.

Still think those are cooler (no pun intended) than most of Super. It had some fan service and a lot of problems but they didn't bother me nearly as much as the stuff in Super.

 

First new DB FighterZ character reveal, try not to be too surprised: it's Future Trunks (purple haired Trunks since apparently there's a different Future Trunks in Super(?) but, as established, I haven't seen Super yet)

 

Future Trunks in Super seems to be the same Future Trunks he just has blue hair for some reason.

 

Supposedly it's a Toriyama decision and the only reason it was ever purple was due to Toei

 

What Future Trunks was supposed to have blue and normal Trunks purple? Or both Trunks were meant to be blue? Either way, they should have been consistent, haha.

 

I think both were meant to be blue. But Toei.
