This record makes me feel like it’s like 2013 and we’re on AP again haha. Nostalgic in a very comforting way
Been listening to this a lot today, definitely hear the MWY Untitled comparison. The vocals remind me of someone too but I can’t figure it out. As for the Goodness comparison, I feel like that’s almost become a default for when the melodies are soft and warm in the way Piano Player’s are. Idk that probably doesn’t make any sense, but I remember people comparing Wait For Love to Goodness before it came out and that’s how I connect those two, and I get that same feeling from songs like Dried on this one.
Getting huge Pinegrove, Gaslight Anthem guitar, Manchester Orchestra, and Balance and Composure vibes. My favorites are Bury and Curtains.
Instrumentally this is everything I could want from an emo-adjacent album, but it might take me a minute to fully buy into the vocals.
Idk if I just like the second half of this more, but from Standing Water on, I'm really into this. Gonna have to go back and listen again
I really don't see much hype about this anywhere other than this site, hope it catches steam. I really underestimated the B&C vibes going on here. His vocals are so unique, and I can totally get people not liking them, but I really do feel like he's hitting the correct notes and the melodies are definitely there, even though they might take multiple listens to really show themselves. I think this is going to be a huge grower.
In addition to B&C, this prompted me to throw on that old Daytrader LP haha. Holds up better than I thought it would
Still trying to adjust to the vocals, but I love this musically. I have a feeling I will like this more with repeat listens.
