Our state Renn Faire went from a place nerds can get dressed up, eat, and drink, to just a bunch of bros looking to get wasted as if it's a St Patty's Day party. It actually sells out now well in advance and and so crowded it's nearly impossible to get food timely.
After finishing the new series of Jury Duty I stuck on Ryan Perez's last episode. I had completely forgot Wiger's long hair looks.
Catching up on Munk, listening to the first episode now. Mitch pre-emptively getting very mad at Wiger for saying he doesn't like Dr. Teeth is exactly why I love this podcast lol
I would not consider myself a Muppets fan, very much a casual enjoyer, but The Muppets Movie was fantastic and The Great Muppet Caper is great so far too
the amount of sincerity in The Muppets Movie feels like something that would literally not be allowed today lol. it's too pure and beautiful and joyous and funny without relying on references. anything today, including new Muppet media by way of Disney, would be too ironic or reliant on pop-culture. you can't just have a frog singing about being a hopeful fuck-up anymore
Yeah what's the deal with that? Does Headgum still exist in any real capacity and if so, are they stuck there contractually? I'm assuming no one of importance at Headgum is paying attention if they're shitting on it every episode? Lol
I think they would just fold if the Doughboys left. I know they have very famous people with podcasts on that network but I wouldn’t be surprised if Doughboys does bigger numbers also “He’s better than Yoda” “Fuck you! What??”
I don’t remember that, it’s possible. I thought the whole fall of Headgum was because they paid all these celebrities to have shows and the shows bomb but going on a corporate retreat to Miami after laying everyone off and your network is tanking is whack
I think probably the celeb pods like Jake Johnson and Beck and Kyle’s are more popular, but who knows? Jake and Amir (the founders) also left the network and started a Patreon, which always seems like a vote of confidence.
