Adding to my unfortunate listening experiences, I opened my back door to let my dog out as mitch asked the horny baby question and my neighbor was having a conversation on her deck with her elderly father lol

Looks like Headgum had some layoffs over the past week and Casey was one of them. Wonder what that means for the LA studio since it sounded like Anya put him in charge of holding everything together.

I feel like Headgum's days are numbered. There's a billion podcasts now and half of them with mega famous movie stars, I can't imagine they're raking in enough cash on Hello Fresh ads to justify an expensive LA studio.

I imagine Doughboys would be fine without Headgum and just went indie but losing that studio space might be enough for them to just say fuck it. I hope not.

 

Yeah, this strikes me as them trying to court the big stars might have been a Hail Mary. They joke about it right at the top of today’s Get Played and Wiger said he’s not at liberty to talk about the financial state of Headgum, but said that it just sucks, then Matt, who recently left Earwolf (now SiriusXM Podcasts), said he’s worked at companies that did the exact same thing and joked that it’s “normally fine and good.”

It feels to me that along with dealing with his mental heath issues, Wiger is kind of fed up because I would think people that just want to be the company guy and not ruffle feathers would not be voluntarily talking about it or kind of joking as angry as he is against Headgum.

I can’t wait for Headgum’s Riyadh office. Also, “Crawl” is such a fun movie.
