I’m sure it’s been said elsewhere before but it is really refreshing how open Mitch has been/is being about his health and medication journey. Over the last five or six years I’ve started SSRIs and a cocktail of various other meds to find the balance that worked for me, and it’s hard to recognize both the mental and physical state I was in before I took the time to address anything in a meaningful way.

When you talk about it with people it’s very easy to feel like you’re oversharing, even with friends or family. I imagine it’s several degrees more difficult on a popular podcast that’s meant to be silly. But it’s important! Over half my friend group started some form SSRIs within a year of my doing so, which makes me laugh because, like, how fucked up had I been that they were asking me about my Prozac as if it were the limitless pill?

Anyways, just always nice to listen to someone advocate for advocating for themselves. Especially people with a platform in our industry (film/tv, not fast food pods) that is getting endlessly more fucked, which he’s also talked a lot about.
