Yeah, popped up in my Patreon feed as well. Didn't realize they were covering the first three movies in a single episode lol going to be the weekend (at least) before I get to it.
Someone on The Big Picture subreddit told me that MI:2 was better than MI:III and I just can't imagine thinking that.
I haven’t rewatched 2 in a while and I know it’s bad but it’s also kind of fun and cheesy. I think 3 is overrated and there is nowhere near enough PSH feel like the series didn’t hit its stride until 4
3 is the only one I'm overly familiar with (bought the DVD as a kid and still love it) but I remember thinking 2 was a real hoot as a kid as well. I know everyone says it's the worst, but I've honestly more excited about revisiting that one than I am watching some of the new ones.
This was not me but I agree with it lol. II is a mess but it’s a really fun mess, and I think PSH makes people forgive a lot of the rest of III, which has the least engaging action sequences of the series for me.
you attacked me for saying dead reckoning was mid. how quickly you change your tune. would hate for spoon man to see this
Just finished 2 and it's good. I love John Woo and that time period of action films is really fun. It's also the most Bond out of the franchise and was necessary to help them realize to not go down that route. The hate is way overblown. I always forget that this one does have a heist, that's usually the most iconic imagery from these movies, but it's still the cold open climbing scene and motorcycles, probably because of the MTV Movie Awards parody.
I will also throw in Metallica's "I Disappear". A friend of mine had a go-kart growing up and we used to stack gravel from his driveway and try to "ramp" it. We always told whoever was watching us attempt a jump to sing the opening riff from "I Disappear" while we raced toward the pile. Real cornball 13 year old boy shit.
