The stretching episode was one of the few times where I was like "what the fuck am I listening to?" Cool Fugazi drop today.
Did anyone go to the NY live up? Seems like all the jokes are falling flat on the ep, but I don't know if that's just Emma cutting out audience audio.
The scenario the Doughboys posit of some guy watching old fireworks videos is so psychotically funny.
Ameilia is so fucking funny. Mitch's bit about sitting in wet grass and that making someone horny, Nick is like "Is that how that works?" and she very quickly let out a "It's doing something for me" lmao
I love the boys and their guests, but the energy has seemed off with all these live eps. Looking forward to them being back in the studio soon.
It’s different, I wouldn’t say off, they’re still great. Having 2 or 3 guests changes things. Having the audience directly in front of you changes things. Desperately trying to not shit yourself changes things. I also prefer the studio eps though
Agreed. We saw them in Boston with a couple friends and had a fun night overall but after the show we didn’t really have anything to talk about regarding doughboys- no fun bits or anecdotes to repeat idk, we just went upon our night
Zach Cherry seems extremely introverted/under utilized on the live shows. He killed on the studio eps, but maybe said 10 words between both live shows.
That's insane to me lol the live episodes are usually great and I don't think yesterday's is an exception
I don't love when there's a ton of live shows back to back, but these have been funny so far. People's personal experience actually being at the show notwithstanding, I think every time they do live shows and you can't hear the crowd responding on the recording there are a lot of complaints about something being off.
I have historically loved the live shows, but the last couple (particularly the most recent) seemed a little off. I also think they need to stop talking about how bad the show is so much. It's funny in small doses, but when it's constantly being said, it kind of diminishes the good stuff they're doing and puts a focus on some of the "lazier" bits
Gotta say, the amount of Cherry doesn't bother me when everything he says is a huge zinger. Also that first(?) live run with Gabrus is literally back to back all-timers
I'm a week behind but this NYC one with Hanford is great The brewery they mentioned (Martin House) that did the mustard beer is actually great. Haven't tried that one but they do some adventurous things and it rarely misses. Their pickle beer is one of my favorites
