Mitch probably peered into one or two other threads and immediately realized what a mistake he made and will never be back It's a nice sequel to Harris posting on AP though
if I want to start listening, should I start at the beginning? or just jump in with the most recent episode?
you could check out the latest episode and if you like it, it's very rewarding to listen from the beginning
Maybe start a little later when they've already found their groove. A lot of people recommend the Paul Rust Wendy's episode. Or just pick a guest you like, if it clicks, then start from the beginning.
I am 2 episodes away from getting through all of the back catalog that's available on Spotify. I started listening to current episodes at the time with Chelsea Peretti doing Peet's Coffee. I am on Burger King 4 with Don't Stop Or We'll Die and it's a DOOZY. Every other minute is a true LOL moment.
I would always recommend starting at the beginning but that’s a daunting task at this point. Worth it though.
Agree with finding guests that interests you (maybe after episode 25 or so), and once you get a feel for the show, going back to the beginning. Wendy's with Paul Rust and KFC with Paul F Tomkins are probably the best entry points imo
I checked out ep 1 and wasn't very into it, but I know it's not really fair to judge a long-running podcast off of episode 1 so will probably check out the Paul Rust and PFT eps too
Looking back on those earlier eps, Domino's with Kowalik, Subway with Fran, Buffalo Wild Wings with Selman are all bright spots. Going through Rockdoughberfest for the first time is a treat
Just imagining getting to experience the Bugmane eps, all of the theme months, the Munch Madnesses for the first time...man
I know it's daunting to start at the beginning, and maybe it's just the completist in me, but I feel like anyone that gets into the show is eventually going to want to go back and hear it all.
I remember starting with the Gabrus Outback episode thinking it'd be surefire, and it was not. I thought it was pretty boring. But yeah there was no way after it started clicking that I wasn't going to go back and listen to those early ones.
The show has a slow start but it's worth it for the build into the contentious Mitch/Wiges relationship we've grown to love.
For me, I started listening to guests or resturaunts I was interested in listening to. Eventually I learned guests like Carl, Nicole, Gabrus, and Betsy are the ones who sold me.
As much as the boys mention Simpsons S1, you could argue the first however many Doughboys episodes are similar. Mitch sounds like he’s in a job interview.
