I think one of the hardest times I laughed from Comedy Bang Bang was Mookie playing Michael Jackson’s Ghost
The Korn drop ruled. Very disappointed in how they don't know the difference between the Disturbed and Korn though.
The difference between Korn and Disturbed is that I own Korn's first four albums and Disturbed never made a song as good as "Got the Life"
I would try to defend Korn but after scrolling back and seeing the posts in question I don’t feel the need to waste my breath lol. opinions on the quality of their music aside, to act like Korn and Disturbed are indistinguishable or interchangeable from one another is extremely reductive and I don’t feel like anyone engaging in that kind of exchange has any desire or willingness to be swayed otherwise. so why try. I personally think Korn is (or was, I am mostly honing in on those first few records here as those are the only ones I’m really connected to) a pretty singular band and their sound is very distinct to me amongst their peers. sure, they certainly influenced a lot of shit and people bit a lot of aspects of their sound and style but imo those bands never really aped the most essential elements of the band (at least that I have heard), let alone improve on it. I would go so far as to say they were innovative in a lot of ways if you look at where heavy music was at when they first emerged onto the scene. but look, like with most art, certain aspects of their music haven’t aged particularly well (the scatting, a decent amount of the lyrics, etc) and I can totally admit that. it doesn’t come close to ruining their music for me because I find so much to love outside (and even sometimes within) that. if someone wants to reduce them to their poorest qualities tho, who am I to stop them?
Can't speak for @phaynes12 but, uh, I was literally just joking based on what happened on the pod today. In a comedy podcast thread.
I was tagged in this thread and have no idea what Doughboys is so, sorry I guess for speaking what I was tagged in regards to?
Well yeah really it was the tag that was bizarre and unnecessary. I’m not trying to yuck anyone’s yum, if you like Korn more power to you. I was just riffing off what happened on the podcast today.
