I enjoyed the episode, apart from the star wars stuff Ive never seen starwars but can usually go along with chat but that whole segment was painful to listen to. The inconsistency in the name of the restaurant also got to me but overall a decent episode
His takes on dry rubs and medium sauces were bad but very harmless and I thought he was generally enjoyable. I had to turn it off during the SW segment but I pretty much expect that whenever SW gets brought up on the pod haha. Anyways I’d still rather die than listen to a single episode of Struggle Session.
If you didn’t like Leslie on the ep do not look at his twitter I like him but he and Jack seem to not only enjoy having hot, contrarian takes: they like doubling down and being aggro about them and sometimes tying them to politics when it’s probably not justified
Honestly I've been underwhelmed by a lot of the guests lately. Still love the show, nobody has been bad enough where I actually have to turn it off (like a certain "knife" or "bug" guest) but if you're gona discuss the show at all I think saying you aren't feeling a guest is totally valid... going to talk shit to the person on their social media is fucked though
and while I still have almost an hour left to go in the episode, I will say I almost turned it off only because their baffling choice to call B W W's instead of just saying the actual name or BDubs. What a weirdly cumbersome and not at all shorter way to abbreviate it.
I’ve only heard BDubs before but at least all these names are significantly shorter than saying the letters BWWs which is somehow more syllables than if you just said the actual name of the restaurant
There was a guy on my floor in college who worked there, always called it “Buff Wangz” Dude was obnoxious but that’s always my first thought whenever someone brings it up.
Ok I didn’t want to complain because I agree, free podcast, but the one think that legitimately annoyed me was: Everyone knows you don’t get slaw there. Oh I’ve never had it.
