Mitch is obviously hyperbolic in saying this is the worst movie ever made. But he’s right in the sense that there might not be another colossal failure at this level
Eh, I don't know. This episode kind of sucks and this comes from someone that didn't like TROS. It reminds me of the early episodes of "How Did This Get Played?" where instead of engaging with the material, it's lots of exasperated sighs, followed up by "This fucking sucks." The ep needed a guest like Drew McWeeny, who was on the "Rogue One" ep, to balance the negativity or steer the conversation. And Mitch's gatekeeping of "These writers don't just get 'Star Wars'" is just fanboy garbage.
Mitch's attitude about it makes it hard for me to take the complaints seriously, although I agree with most of them. Jenny Nicholson put out a review of Ep IX that pretty much aligns with my thoughts 100%
I don't watch Star Wars, because I'm that cool, but does anyone expect the 10th+ movie in a 40 year old franchise that's written/directed/acted by people not involved in the original to be very good?
The amount of people that just can't handle any star wars criticism is one of the most amazing things I've seen online. Literal babies not even able to listen to the podcast for the fear that someone will talk badly about their average ass movies
As someone who loved TFA and became indifferent to the last two movies, I’m like “welp, those were things” and never became worked up over them. And the original trilogy holds a special part in my heart.
Very funny so far. Their talk about dinner pricing seemed a bit outrageous though. Like Mitch's limit is 4 digits?! I think Wiger's $500 for a couple would be my max as well.
Do you have to pay extra to meet them after the show? Saw some VIP thing listed on the Facebook page for Saturday.
When I saw them in Dallas, they did a free meet and greet after, but that was also like 3 years ago. Charging for a meet and greet is pretty lame in my opinion though. I can understand if the crowds are too big now to meet everyone, but they could just wait 20-30 minutes after the show before coming out so that the crowds die down and only the people willing to wait will meet them.
