I don’t know if they were selling it or if it was the venue. I got a reserved seat for this show instead of GA and apparently all of the reserved tables by the stage get one. TL;DR ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For when this episode gets posted: the annoying as fuck dude who keeps yelling was literally sitting right next to me. So that was great.
I feel like the audience was weird. There were awkward moments of silence in the crowd at times that there should’ve been big pops. Nangle said so many Philly specific things that didn’t get nearly the recognition that I thought they should. Maybe it was specifically the Northeast Philly in me. I feel like the crowd was less obnoxious than other live shows but yeah, the few people that yelled dumb stuff suck. You’ve listened to the pod for presumably 5 years, why would you think yelling shit is appropriate?
Yeah I mean it gets to a point where you need to read the room. During the reviews when Wiger was trying to get out his thoughts and score the dude yelled “Golden Plate bitch!” I was like wtf, and a ton of people like turned and glared at him. I kept like trying to inch my chair away so that people wouldn’t think we were there together. It might just be because I was sitting next to him, but I truly think he was the worst crowd yeller they’ve ever had, because he was doing it constantly throughout the whole show. They really need to just have Gabrus there at all their live shows at this point lol
The problem with Gabrus policing their shows is that even more dumbasses will start yelling just to get the attention and get roasted by Gabrus. Same reason comics shouldn't try to "own hecklers." Comedy clubs/theaters should just have the balls to kick people out who continuously interrupt the show.
I was way in the back so I didn't hear him that often but yeah there were a few idiots doing that throughout the show. Just shouting "Nang Gang" and being idiots. Did anyone go to the second show?
Anyone else going to be in Boston tomorrow? @alina will most likely be out drinking in the city and eating some Regina beforehand
I was at the second show. I thought the crowd was great, but I was lucky enough to be seated right up front (despite having GA tickets) so I may have missed some of the bullshit
Re: the first philly show. I had a lot of fun. Agreed about the annoying members of the crowd. Was interesting to finally see the Nick and Mitch dynamic in person. When Mitch needles him, Nick’s definitely laughing it off and not actually getting annoyed. Tart and Nangle are top tier as always.
