I've never been and looked it up, only one location in my state. But... browsing their menu, you can get a sandwich in a LETTUCE WRAP?!?!?!
that's what I used to do all the time. Which I guess was because I was doing paleo which means I must've had their meat I like them, you just have to order right. If you put too much stuff or the wrong combination of things you can fuck it up
i used to work at a Blockbuster that was in a small strip mall and was next door to a Subway. the ceiling was a tall, like, corrugated steel? all wavy like a warehouse ceiling would be if that makes sense. so there was a literal gap where the ceiling met the adjoining wall that allowed the smell to come over. it started as intoxicating and by the end of my tenure was nauseating.
The Subway smell permeates your clothes almost instantly it's terrible. My first job was Subway and it was hell, I only stayed 2 weeks. They made you sign a form waving your state mandated breaks in exchange for a 6" sub.
also subway gets way too much shit. if you're getting chicken there its gonna suck but you're also a dumbass for getting the chicken at subway when one peek through the glass will swiftly reveal it's the particle board of poultry. they have a ton of solid veggie options with a load of dressings. cold cuts are cold cuts and theirs are just fine. they have these fire habanero wraps. you just gotta know how to play the game.
I used to work near a Subway and it was the most convenient lunch option but I had it so much I can't stand it now edit: but also I could probably still fuck around and get a serviceable veggie sub there
in 2006 I worked at Quiznos and liked it a lot. That was rat commercial era Quiznos. All their locations here have been gone for years so Idk what it's like now
Subway's bread is their major downfall, JJ has the best bread but I can't support them. Jersey Mike's is quality all around for a chain. Firehouse is good too but there aren't any in Long Beach.
