there was Twitter banter about it but Jimmy is real weird about food as im sure you know and is also crazy allergic to cats. they record at Mitch's apartment and he has two cats.
"I cannot be around cooking food. I cannot see food that’s being cooked, I can’t smell it. If I smell food being cooked, I have to run from the room and I will vomit. I also cannot see food before it’s prepared, it has to be a like a magic trick. If I say hey, I’ll have the chicken parmesan, it has to just show up prepared. I can’t see the chicken breast—I can’t even walk down that aisle of the grocery store. And for that reason, I have never cooked a day in my life." Jimmy Pardo Is Weird About Food
I didn't even realize what the theme of this show was lmao, makes sense pardo couldn't do it despite his love for 7/11 buffalo rollers
the show eventually becomes an hour of top shelf bullshitting with 30 minutes of food talk so dont hold them to that format too hard lol
A poll about the worst guest just seems mean spirited for no reason. Any Chicagoans in here? The only deep dish place I went to was Gino's East, is that just a bullshit tourist trap? They never talk about it when discussing deep dish.
I've never actually outright disliked a guest by virtue of hearing them on Doughboys. They have had at least one guest I can recall that I actively disliked prior to them going on Doughboys, though.
Deep dish in general is kind of a tourist trap. Pequod’s is probably the best, Lou Malnatis and Giordanos are the two biggest chains. Gino’s east is not really on the upper echelon.
like if you're paying Which Wich prices for that mediocre ass sandwich you better not have a deli within 10 miles of it
Last night I tweeted at them that they should do another ramen place, and suggested Ippudo because they have a Santa Monica location, and Mitch liked the tweet so fingers crossed on that one.
Which Wich is cheap tho And I like the customization Not sure if I ever ate anything with meat there though, so I can't speak to that
I've never had it but apparently there's one near the campus of Montclair University here in Jersey which is close to where I work. Maybe I'll give it a try based on these glowing recommendations from my friend Shrek
I've only been once but it was so bad that i feel like i would potentially be throwing money down the drain to try it again
