Yeah I don't dislike live episodes, but I'll always prefer an "in studio" because they're longer and looser. I do wish they spread these live ones out or released them as Doubles but it's not a deal breaker or anything.
Fair enough. I've just found the last few live episodes to be some of the best episodes of the podcast, period.
Love the live episodes but the energy is definitely different. All three Texas shows were all timers tho, and they usually pick fan favorite guests so they seem to have a higher hit to miss ratio.
I think Alana is really funny (she really does have solid zingers a lot of the time) but, much like with Bug Mane, I can see how people who don't like guests that sort of take over the show with their persona would dislike her. For me, when I see a repeat guest is going to be on the show, I know what kind of episode it's going to be based on who that guest is and just sort of go with it.
As someone who can’t srand the Knife and turned off her last episode, should I even bother with this?
No, she goes full Alana this episode. But some of it is genuinely funny. There were a few times either Mitch and Nick had a great one liner and she just talks over them to get her punch line in, though.
At least listen to the first 5-10 minutes where Alana is straight dunking on Mitch. I found it hilarious, but if you're not feeling it, you can always turn it off.
Ever since the Deli Boys ep, I dislike Suss so much. Definitely the bottom of the barrel for me as far as guests go.
I’m mixed on the Knife and haven’t listened yet to day. I do feel like she forced her way into the pod out of sheer will, which I respect. Her first double was a very good ep, but two live shows may be too much. She was also perfect when paired with Gabrus for the Holiday special, they had good overflowing energy together.
