Is Aldi good? I visited one like 8 years ago and everything seemed so generic. I understand they changed over time.
Their spicy quac is top notch, legit my favorite chip dip. You can load up on snacks and groceries for cheap. I’ve considered working there but they don’t allow employees to have facial hair, and absolutely fuck employers trying to dictate a human beings appearance.
Is Steinbrenner running the place? Prior to moving, my grocery store had a guy running the meat dept. and he had a big bushy beard he covered with a hair net.
Just moved about 30 yards from an ALDI. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with it. The produce is bad, and the line/checkout situation is fucked up. We just had one of those pizzas and it's definitely up there for take n bake, right under Papa Murphy's. Definitely a good place for snacks and drinks.
Not sure what it is like in America but here in England Aldi is very much seen as a budget supermarket and is very hit and miss on the quality of what they sell. Why Aldi checkout staff scan your shopping so quickly - revealed Up until a few years back staff had to memorise all prices for everything sold.
The checkout is terrible, but it’s even worse if you decide not to buy anything (at least at my Aldi). The entrance doors won’t open from the inside and they block off all the checkout lines that aren’t in use. The only way out is to through a check out line
My favorite part is watching the cashiers treat Customers like they're idiots if they don't know how their fucked up bagging situation works. They basically yelled at my girlfriend for not taking her stuff to the tables to bag, like anyone who's never shopped there before would know. I hope they do Whole Foods 365 I've been, their pizza is insanely good.
Aldis is good and cheap, but some products are pretty bad so you have to pick and choose, for example they're deli sandwich meat is terrible.
Anyone with Stitcher premium: are they missing some backlog or am I doing something wrong? Mine skips from ep 2 to Feb 11 2016
You're doing something very wrong, you're trying to use Stitcher. App is unfunctional, I would advise you to use any other podcast app
I use it for everything else just fine and want to keep it someone plz be helpful! If not this is the final nail in the Stitcher coffin I guess
Exactly what I was hoping for, thanks! Jumping almost a year ahead and missing the evolution of their dynamic and being very confused by a loud drop at the beginning was jarring lol
Have you tried using a different app to access the Stitcher RSS feeds? Unofficial RSS Feeds for Stitcher Premium
Also, Aldi’s bagging system and shopping carts system are good ideas. I work at a huge grocer in the Midwest and the amount of plastic bags we go through in a day is insane. Getting people to bring their own bags is needed or having them get paper bags for 5 cents isn’t bad either. And giving them incentive to put back their carts is solid. Aldi’s deli meat is terrible though.
There’s a small chain here that just leaves the small-med sized boxes their groceries are shipped in at the front of the store that you can use instead of offering bags Also hell yeah Nick suggesting Wegmans, best grocery store in the damn country Also Also, Aldi whips ass
We have a plastic bag ban, so that's standard for every store. I was talking more about how they never have more than one cashier, throw all your shit back into a cart and shove you off some tables to bag it your self, then get mad at you if it's your first time and don't know their weird system.
